Our story

2008: Visar Europe is launched by Daniel Pitton and Olivier Kleynen.

Daniel Pitton, who had been searching for an effective sorting system for several years, comes across the research and development work done by Olivier Kleynen in his Belgium-based company Visar Sprl. As no system on the market responds to the needs of carrot producers, they decide to work together to industrialise and commercialise the future optical sorting system Sortop Carrots.

In order to build the first prototype, an assembly workshop and a technical office, along with a team of engineers and technicians, are brought together in Oppens, Switzerland.

2010: The first production line is installed in Yverdon in collaboration with Stoll Frères SA, producer of 6000 tons of carrots a year.

After conclusive and very promising test results, several installations are started up in Switzerland in 2010 and 2011. During these years, the system is improved and made reliable, and is now exported to carrot producers across the world.

2015: Visar creates the potato sorter based on the same successful concept as the carrot sorter.

2017: New dimension for Visar Europe which is now called Visar Sorting. The success of the projects conducted since 2010 in Switzerland and abroad confirms the company's status as a manufacturer of reliable industrial machines. Visar Sorting also stands out for its superior service quality in project leading, maintenance and diverse integration services, hence the added "Swiss Made" label on its logo. Renowned resellers now trust Visar Sorting and offer the optical sorter Sortop in their assortment.

2018 : We prouldy celebrate the machine n° 100, with a great sunshining day in Oppens and a grill party ;-)

2019: To keep pace of growing orders (below, 10 machines delivered for a customer), transformations are engaged in end of 2019 to enlarge the work space and to build an automatic warehouse.

2020: This year will stay in minds as an important turnaround in the world history. That concerns us too : our R&D team took advantage of this very particular context to successfully design a new rotating feeding system. And that's definitely a key moment in our history. Basically, it brings our in-line sorting concept to a never-reached level of performances by doubling the capacity and sorting even better. Integrated on a new frame designed to be a low maintenance cost machine, our 2020 model sorter is what we call game changer. Naturaly, its name can't be nothing but Visar Sortop Revolution !

2020 : Definitely a key moment!

Building strong relationships with our customers since our beginnings, one of our contacts returns a great service and puts our R&D team on rails with an interesting idea. The latter succeeds in taking advantage of the particular situation (Covid-19) to design a rotary feeding system.

Mounted on a new chassis designed to be economical and easy to maintain, it basically brings our in-line sorting concept to a level of performance never reached before by doubling the capacity and sorting even better.

The name of our new model, which turns its old counter-arguments to its advantage, can't be nothing but Visar Sortop Revolution!
